Week 5

Welcome to week 5!  A reminder to you all that we are now in Alert Level 2, this means:

  • Parents must sign in at the gate using the Covid Tracer app if you are coming into school.

  • All children must be at school by 8:45 and picked up by 2:45.

  • Parents are not allowed into the classrooms.  If you wish to speak with your child's teacher please send them an email to arrange a time.

  • The teachers are cleaning surfaces throughout the day.

  • All children and teachers are handwashing regularly as well as using hand sanitizer.

  • It is expected all children will be at school unless they are unwell.

  • New Students in Kakano 8 - Mrs Trask is available to meet you and your child at the door of Kakano in the morning - Just ask for her.

  • Please remind your child that they have three jobs to complete each morning - To put their bags away, their book bags in the box and sign their magnet name on the board.


Home Learning packs:

Please return these to school with your child tomorrow.  We will keep them safe in case we may need them in the future.


Bread, Buns and Rolls:

Tomorrow we have bread available to families in need on a table at the church gate.  Please take what you and your family need.


Library:

Please make sure your child has returned their library books ready for our Thursday visit to the school Library.  We went for our first visit last week and Kakano 8 students choose two books each. I am sure the children are eager to return their books and get new ones.


Friday Sausage Sizzle: Students can order from the teachers on a Friday morning.

$1.50 for a delicious hot sausage and bread

$1.50 for a refreshing juicie

Friday sports morning!

 If it is fine tomorrow morning we will be having a mini sports morning for our KAKANO children to get them used to athletic type activities. If you want you can send some pe uniform or shorts and tshirt along so that the girls don’t have to wear their dresses. Thanks

WEEK 4 Term 4 Blog Post for Kakano 8

  Week 4 Notices Welcome to week 4! We were all very excited to welcome four new chicks into our Kakano class last week.  Our four new chickens are doing well and have been showered in love since hatching. Kowhai and Tahi moved into their new home outside last week.  They love scratching around in the dirt looking for bugs and exploring.  It has been great watching the children talk to, and observe the chooks as they play.  Thank you to Mrs Thomson and the children for constructing the new Chicken House, you all make wonderful builders.     Reminders for week 4 NO SWIMMING FOR KAKANO 8 this week. Week 8 Term 4

  Week 8  Welcome to Week 8 - It is going to be a busy couple of weeks so please ask questions or check this blog if you are unsure! Week 7 was jam-packed and we just love seeing what our Kakano students create and imagine in their play!   Week 7 Prayer leaders!       Practicing for Advent Liturgy   Peter Pan production: Please ensure your child has brought along any costume requirements to their classroom teacher ASAP! Peter Pan is shaping up well and we have had a huge uptake of ticket sales with Tuesday’s Matinee the only show that has seats available.
