Holiday Reminders :-)

 Kiaora Whanau,

WOW! Your little ones have been at school for five-seven weeks!

We have had an action-packed term full of learning and settling in, especially with Covid restrictions.

Today your child brought home their normal book bags with a few extra things inside:

  • This week's two x reading books
  • Holiday reading log - Please fill this in as they read over the holidays as it counts towards a prize draw early next term. Please bring this form in Term 4, Week One.
  • PTA Raffle fundraiser - please sell this fundraising tickets and return the money and ticket butts to school next term. Only the eldest child in each family brought these home.
  • ABC learning wall - Our children are good at saying their ABC's now we just need to practice identifying each letter, out of order of our ABC song.
  • Holiday reading plastic bag of books - bring back in Term Four Week One. Please read with your children and they can also read to you the words they recognise.  ALL READING counts to be recorded on the Holiday Reading log sheet. If you need more space - fill it in on a piece of paper and attach it to the log.
  • Don't force reading, encourage, and do it at a time that suits you both and your family life.
  • It is a good habit to keep all the above (minus the raffle tickets) in the book bags when not being used.
Tomorrow children will also bring home their poem books to practice reading these. Poem books also count towards the holiday reading logs.

We also managed to sneak in a class photo and some individual photos when the sports photographer was in school the other day. I will let you know when these are available and how to order / get them.
I will send a blog out for Term Four Week One on the last Sunday of the Holidays.

Any questions email me!

Happy Holidays, Bring on our Term Four Summer Term!

Thank you
Mrs Jane Trask
